As an industry we tend to focus on the female species as she saunters down the runway. Yet we mustn’t forget the importance a man has in this modelling world, because without him, where would Topman and Simon Spurr really be?

Men’s AW 2013/14 fashion week drew to a close toward the middle of January, thus giving UK Models enough time to scour the runway for the hottest new talent of male modelling. Much like the girls of this world, our favourites are all based on show-stopping looks, a quirky face and an irreplaceable runway/photo shoot presence. (Men, if you want to make it as big as David Gandy and ‘Money Guy Number 1’ Tyson Ballou, those three attributes will undoubtedly work in your favour.)

Starting the ball rolling is six foot two British born Jester White (first name, Luke) who was surprisingly scouted as he walked his dog with his father (the man he also refers to as his idol). In a remarkable period of time he has been shot for Wonderland and Hero magazine, graced the cover of Grit’s spring 2013 issue and impressively featured in Neil Barrett, Iceberg and Kenzo’s SS campaigns. (He’s the lad holding Ming Xi in a cross like position.) As for the runway, Dries Van Noten, Paul Smith, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Diesel, Fendi and many more all contribute to his more than impressive CV.

Born the other side of the world (he’s Korean) UK Models have recently clocked Kim Won, whose facial features including those angry eyes are remarkably similar to Jester White’s. Despite owning his own clothes brand, ‘87mm’, this is a man who has devoted a significant amount of time to the show season and has thus been spotted walking for Prada, Tommy Hilfiger, Y-3, Perry Ellis by Duckie Brown and Kenneth Cole. Represented in New York, Paris and Milan, we expect to be seeing a lot more of this boy.

A model with a look far fiercer goes by the name of Nick Lagerburg, a six foot two male who is signed to agencies in Paris, Milan, London and Copenhagen. Perhaps obvious from his photo are those striking jawbones – true to his Dutch origin – but believe it or not this was another model that found fame whilst carrying out one of his usual day-to-day tasks (this time shopping). With previous career connections in teaching we imagine his work duties are about to become far more world-recognised and famed.

Also rocking the masculine skull structure is Italian/German Fabricio Bach. Born in Brazil on December 10th 1994, he has his persuasive mother to thank for his modelling career. Designers, photographers and editorials alike have taken to this man like a duck to water and seemingly he has taken to modelling equally as well. In 2010 Bach became the prestigious winner of Ford Supermodel Brazil, you can also spot him on the cover of U Mag.

With a helping hand from a friend (who just so happened to know a photographer) comes Dino Sabanovic. Born in Bosnia, sporting size eleven feet and with an inside leg of 32 inches, we imagine Sabanovic will become as much of a talking point on the catwalk as he will on the inside pages of a magazine.

Finishing our list with his totally unique look (that is transformed the moment his floppy fringe is pulled back or forth from his forehead) comes the young and fresh face Elijah Tyedmers. With a little Norwegian, German, Russian and Chinese in him – which accounts for his truly show stopping looks – the Canadian was scouted at a trip to the cinema. His autumn winter 2013 shows make for an impressive start in the industry; at the end of the runway season he could proudly include Comme des Garcons Hommes, Viktor & Rolf, Fendi and Salvatore Ferragamo on his CV.
